GREENHOUSE MINISTRIES PROVIDES MULTIPLE VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Volunteering matters and provides many benefits for individuals and groups. From the ability to help change lives to growing new relationships, volunteering is the core of serving others.

VOLUNTEER

Volunteer opportunities exist for individuals or groups within multiple areas of our ministry.

Our volunteers are the driving force of Greenhouse Ministries as we rely on 500 hours each week to accomplish our mission. We have various opportunities from peer counseling to donation sorting. We have something for everyone!

VOLUNTEER ORIENTATION

For anyone interested in volunteering and learning more about Greenhouse Ministries, join us for our Volunteer Orientation, Thursdays at 10am. No registration. Just show up!

VOLUNTEER OPPORTUNITIES

Teach Classes

We offer multiple classes for our clients such as anger management, cooking, computer, etc. Teaching a class is a perfect opportunity to share your expertise and skills with our clients. Classes can be taught based on the teacher’s availability (weekly, biweekly, etc.)

Sort Donations

We receive multiple types of donations including furniture, food, clothing, household goods, and more. When the donations come in we need volunteers to sort, price, and organize.

Assist in the Garden Patch

Garden Patch volunteers work in our thrift store and help decorate, put up merchandise, and any other store duties as directed.

Pick Up and Load Furniture

We do furniture pick-ups on Tuesdays and Thursdays. The furniture we pick-up is then set up in our warehouse and is priced and sold. Volunteers would go with a staff member to the location and help load the furniture in our box truck and then unload the furniture back at Greenhouse.

Mentor and Provide Counseling

Our peer counselors are essential to Greenhouse and work directly with clients. Peer counselors talk with clients and help assist them in their immediate needs. This is perfect for volunteers who love people and want to work directly with our clients.

Personal Shoppers

Personal shoppers help gather the needs the clients has. This includes filling up food carts from the food pantry, gathering clothing and shoes, collecting toiletries, and more depending on the specific client’s need.

Stock the Food Pantry

When the food donations come in they are placed in carts outside of the pantry, and we need volunteers to sort the food and put them in their proper spot and check the expiration dates to make sure all food is good.

Assist with Special Events/Projects

We host 6 -7 mobile food pantries a year. The mobile food pantries are where we are given a truck load of perishable and nonperishable foods. Each client receives a full shopping cart of food. Volunteers help with prayer, pushing carts, and putting food in carts. These are great for larger groups. We also have a monthly newsletter that needs stuffing and sealing – this is also a great group opportunity. Other special events include off-campus food giveaways, events at partner locations, helping with maintenance of our properties and more as events are planned.
